Shipping & Returns Policy
At Zeil Millinery, we take great care in crafting and delivering your luxury handmade hats. Please review our shipping and returns policy below.
Processing Times
- In-Stock Styles: 3–5 business days processing before shipment
- Pre-orders: 6–8 weeks. For seasonal launches, the anticipated availability date is shown on our website to help you plan your purchase.
- Custom/Bespoke Pieces: Production timeline will be determined during your design consultation, based on the complexity of your custom hat.
- Seasonal Collections: Processing times may vary during peak seasons
Holiday & Peak Season Notice
During holiday seasons (Nov–Jan) and peak periods, processing and shipping times may be extended by 2–5 business days. Significant delays will be communicated via email.
Shipping Methods & Rates
Kindly note: Shipping time is separate from processing time.
Domestic (U.S.)
- Standard Shipping (5–7 business days): Complimentary
- Express Shipping (2–3 business days): $30–$40 depending on location
- Overnight Shipping: Please contact us customerservice@zeilmillinery.com
International
- Standard (7–14 business days): $35–$65 depending on destination
- Express (3–7 business days): $75–$125 depending on destination
Shipping Address Requirements
- Address Changes: Within 2 hours of order placement. Contact us immediately if you need to change your shipping address.
- PO Box Limitations: We cannot ship to PO Boxes due to the high value and delicate nature of our hats. A physical street address is required for secure delivery.
- Signature Requirements: Orders over $200 require an adult signature upon delivery. If no one is available, the carrier will attempt redelivery or hold the package for pickup.
Special Packaging
All hats are shipped in complimentary Zeil Millinery hat boxes with:
- Protective tissue paper
- Care instruction card
International Orders
- Customs & Duties: International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or fees imposed by their country; these are not included in our shipping rates.
- Restricted Countries: We currently cannot ship to certain countries due to customs restrictions. Please contact us if unsure about shipping to your location.
Tracking & Insurance
All shipments include tracking information and are fully insured for their value. You will receive tracking details via email once your order ships.
Return Policy
At Zeil Millinery, we accept returns within 14 days of delivery.
As a bespoke boutique company, our goal is to get your hat perfect from the start. We encourage you to consult with us before ordering so that, together, we can ensure the ideal fit, style, and finish—making returns a rarity.
All returns must meet these conditions:
- Item must be unworn with all original tags attached
- Returned in original Zeil Millinery hat box
- Free from odors, makeup, or hair products
- Include original card
We are unable to offer any exchanges or store credits on items that do not meet these conditions.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days after we receive and inspect your returned item. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Exchanges
If you wish to exchange your purchase, we recommend contacting us promptly so we can assist you in selecting your replacement piece. Exchanges will only be processed within 14 days for items that meet the above conditions. Any exchange is subject to product availability at the time of processing.
Store Credit
Store credit will be issued in the form of a Zeil Millinery gift card within 5 days of receiving your returned item. Your credit will reflect the full value of the returned merchandise, including any U.S. taxes, but will exclude shipping costs.
Return Process
- Ship Insured: Recommended for return protection
- Domestic Returns: Customer responsible for return shipping costs
- International Returns: Customer responsible for all return shipping costs and customs fees
Damaged or Lost Shipments
Damaged Items:
- Take photos of item and packaging
- Contact us within 48 hours
- Keep all original packaging
We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost.
Lost Shipments:
If your tracking shows delivered but you haven't received your order, please contact us immediately. We will work with the carrier to locate your package and provide a resolution.
Pre-Order Specific Terms
- Pre-order items are made-to-order and cannot be canceled once production begins
- Estimated delivery dates are approximate and may vary due to handcrafted nature
- We'll notify you of any significant delays in production
- Pre-order items follow the same return policy once delivered
